Ah, the bad news. You may get worse before you get better. When you kill the creatures that are invading your body they die off and create toxins and waste. These toxins can make your symptoms worsen, bring back old symptoms, bring on flu like symptoms or just make you feel downright lousy. In my experience I felt all of these things but mostly very, very foggy headed and anxious. I could barely do simple math in my head or even watch T.V. I also developed red welts on my abdomen and chest. I did go to the dermatologist who had no idea what it was. It went away in a few months but I believe this was toxins leaving my body.
So what is the solution? If you don’t kill what’s killing you you will never get better. But if you do kill it you might feel terrible. The answer is to go slow and detox as much as possible. Some days can be confusing because you may not be sure if your symptoms have flared up from a trigger or if it’s a die off reaction. The answer is the same. Detox.
Drink lots of water with lemon.
Sweat. Access to a sauna would be great or if you live in Florida like me, just go outside.
Light exercise. Too much or too strenuous will only make you feel worse. If you’re familiar with yoga just do five or ten minutes of “flow” and breathing.
Deep breathing.
Dry brushing the skin. You can do this before you shower. Brushes can be bought at beauty stores or online. Start at the bottoms of the feet and move upwards. The legs, stomach, arms, always brushing towards the heart. Even now, on a day when I feel sick if I dry brush I get big red welts on my arms and near my knees. I believe this is toxins coming out. If I feel fine there are no welts!
Go in the ocean or take a saltwater bath. The ocean always makes me feel great. But of course we all can’t go swimming in the ocean! A Saltwater bath is a great alternative. You can use epsom salt or just some plain kosher salt.
Rest.
Slow down if you’re taking natural herbs and natural anti virals. You always have to start with very small doses to see how you tolerate it.
You’ve got all these toxins in your body that need to come out. But you are healing and you are getting better! Slow down, rest, detox and know that this too shall pass.
